Use the exact named raw material in each row and check the collected output before mixing. A higher yield per item does not necessarily mean a faster material-gathering route.
How many inputs do you need for a target batch?
Calculate missing doses = recipe requirement − doses already stored, stopping at zero. Divide by the selected input’s yield and round up to a whole input item.
For example, if you need 10 Mycological doses and already have 2, the deficit is 8: process two Carbuncle Mushrooms at four doses each, or one spare Mushroom Peccary Skull at eight. Do not consume a skull reserved for your farm just because it yields more per item.
Only the missing stock matters. If you need five doses and an input gives four, two input items produce eight, leaving three doses for later; it does not change the target mixture.
Turn raw inputs into a finished item
- Use the Distillation Bench instructions to process raw items and collect their output.
- Check the reagent name and dose count, not just its icon.
- Choose a purpose in the chemistry overview.
- Follow the Chemistry Bench worked recipe when mixing.
A Chemistry Bench input holds at most eight doses. A raw item producing twelve doses does not mean you can pour all twelve into one mixing flask. Store the surplus and use the recipe’s actual amounts.
Why did I get Noxious Sludge or an unexpected result?
Glass Scrap and Tech Scrap produce Noxious Sludge; not everything useful for building is a useful chemistry reagent. Check the row for the exact raw item, then check the output before mixing.
Unstable Distillation, Noxious Sludge and Unstable Flask are different names. The first is a reagent used in valid recipes; the second can lead to unwanted mixing results; the third is a finished throwable. For mixing failures, use the Chemistry Bench diagnosis.
